20 minutes

What can you do in twenty minutes?  Think of what you can do with twenty minutes.  Open the following link and look at the impact of 20 minutes a day.  Click here.

Let's pretend you are a teacher.  How would or how could you encourage reading just 20 minutes outside of class each day?  There are all kinds of reading incentives in the schools.

Let's pretend you are a parent.  How can you ensure your child reads at least 20 minutes a day outside of the school?

What are your thoughts.

  • Do you like to read?
  • Do you feel you would be more enlightened on other subjects if you read more?
  • Do you think you have 20 minutes you could use to read something other than a text or a Facebook posting?
  • As an intern, can you tell the difference in your students that read outside the classroom?
  • As an intern, can you tell a difference in the students who do their homework?
  • If you could do it all over, would you take your studies more seriously?  Would you read more?
  • If you like to read, what do you like to read?
  • If you don't like to read, how's it working out for you?
This week, blog about your thoughts about reading.  Use the digital image from the link for support.

Blog rubric.  Click here.  This blog is due on Monday January 14, 2013.
